Abstract:
This quantitative research aims to examine the effectiveness of the kamishibai method in improving students’ storytelling skills in English. The research design used in this study was a one-group pretest-posttest. To understand the subjects' responses regarding the kamishibai method, the researcher also distributed questionnaires. The results indicated that, based on statistical calculations using the paired samples t-test formula, the kamishibai method was effective in improving students’ storytelling abilities. Additionally, the tabulated questionnaire responses showed that the majority of respondents (70%) agreed that the kamishibai method helped them tell stories better than before. The average score of the responses was 41, falling within the interval of 37–45, indicating that the average respondent agreed with the effectiveness of the kamishibai method in improving storytelling ability in English.
