This research aimed to investigate the effectiveness of the Project-Based Learning (PJBL) model on students’ vocabulary mastery.
This study applied a quasi-experimental design, involving a total of 64 students from class 7A and 7C, divided into experimental and control groups. The research procedure included a pre-test, treatment, and post-test. Data were collected through vocabulary mastery tests and analyzed using SPSS 27, including tests of normality, validity, reliability, and the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test due to the data not being normally distributed.
The results showed that before the implementation of PJBL, the average score of the control group was 50.31, while the experimental group had an average score of 61.56. After the implementation of PJBL, the average score of the control group increased to 76.25, and the experimental group reached 81.87. Based on the Wilcoxon test results, the significance value was less than 0.05, indicating that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. This suggests that Project-Based Learning is significantly effective in improving students’ vocabulary mastery.
